Chain-snatchers nabbed
Hyderabad: The Kanchanbagh police arrested two juvenile boys who are part of a chain snatching gang. The gang is involved in about seven cases of chain-snatching. The police was able to recover 15-told gold ornaments worth `5 lakh and a motorbike from their possession.
Apart from the two juveniles, one Imran is also a part of the gang. Imran, along with Ali, the receiver of the stolen booty, are on the run.
According to Tarun Joshi, South Zone deputy commissioner of police, during a routine vehicle check near the Gandhi statue in Champapet on Wednesday, the boys were intercepted and arrested.
They have been involved in chain-snatching cases in Amberpet and Kanchanbagh, a house burglary in Bhavaninagar and a two-wheeler theft in Banjara Hills.
“The police team noticed the boys riding a motorbike and got suspicious. The duo was searched and the cops recovered gold ornaments from their pockets. On further questioning, that boys confessed to the crimes.” Joshi said.
