Chamarajnagar has brought me luck: CM
Mysore: After having broken the jinx by visiting Chamarajnagar on Wednesday, Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar quipped on Thursday that no politicians should miss a visit to the district if they are looking for a ‘promotion’.
“Chamarajnagar has brought me promotions not demotions during my visits twice—as a minister and now as chief minister,” said Mr Shettar after inaugurating the 1,053rd Jayanthi Mahothsav of Sri Mathsur Jagadguru, Sri Veerasimhasana Mahasamsthapanacharya Adijagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Shivayogi at Suttoor, here on Thursday.
“Earlier as minister for revenue, and rural development and panchyat raj, I conducted a review meeting at Chamarajnagar. I did not lose power but was promoted as CM. Now after my visit to Chamarajnagar on Wednesday, I received a message that the BJP parliamentary board has decided I should lead the party in the forthcoming assembly elections. My visits to Chamarajnagar has only brought me luck,” he said. He praised the JSS Math for its contributions to ensure quality education and food to children.
