Hyderabad: The differences between the Nara and Daggubati families, both vying to be considered inheritors of NTR’s mantle, have come out into the open over the unveiling of the statue of the late chief minister at Parliament House in Delhi.
The function to unveil the statue will be held on May 7.
Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, son-in-law of the late NTR, and former chief minister, says he has not got an invitation to attend the function. Congress MLA and husband of Union minster D. Purandeswari (daughter of NTR), Daggubati Venkateswar Rao, however, said  efforts to contact Naidu on the phone failed.
He also said that an invitation was sent to Naidu’s residence but his security refused to take it on the latter’s instructions. However, invitations have been sent to the Telugu Desam office and Heritage office which have acknowledged receipt.
Telugu Desam MPs who insist that no invitation has been sent to their party chief are going to lodge a protest with Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar when they meet her on Monday.
Lakshmi Parvati also waiting for invite
Lakshmi Parvati said that she has not received an invitation for the function where her husband the late NTR’s statue will be unveiled.
Speaking to the media in Guntur on Sunday, she said that she would write to the Lok Sabha Speaker seeking an explanation. Being the legal heir of NTR, she wondered why she was ignored both by the Lok Sabha Speaker as well as Union minster D. Purandeswari (daughter of NTR).
She also wanted to know who is organising the function, the Speaker’s office or Purandeswari. Members of the family who are attending the function are NTR’s sons Nandamuri Balakrishna and Nandamuri Harikrishna, and his grandson Junior NTR.
Interestingly, Junior NTR had not attended the Visakhapatnam public meeting held on April 26 to mark the conclusion Naidu’s marathon Vastunna Meekosam padayatra.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
