Hyderabad: Telugu Desam president N. Chandrababu Naidu interacted with Uttarakhand flood victims on reaching the AP Bhavan in New Delhi.
He expressed his ire against AP Bhavan officials  for neglecting the plight of the victims. At one stage, Naidu and his party MPs and victims held a dharna in front of the Godavari block in AP Bhavan. Hearing the plight of the victims who reached AP Bhavan after one week of ordeals, Naidu was moved and distributed Rs 10,000 each to the victims.
He reached AP Bhavan at around 7 pm and visited all the areas where the victims were taking shelter. The victims complained to him about the negligent attitude of officials. They said that that they got rotten food when they sought medicial facilities and food.
The AP Bhavan officials also reportedly demanded money for arranging the return travel to various parts of the state.
“We lost everything during the floods in Uttarakhand. We lost all our  belongings including money. How can AP Bhavan officials demand money to provide a return ticket? They also failed to give us clothes,” a few victims complained to Naidu.
They told him that they were denied rooms in AP Bhavan as officials demanded rent for their stay and told them to sleep on the corridors if they do not pay rent.
One victim told Naidu that when he asked officials to provide treatment for the injuries he sustained, they told him to buy medicines outside.
On hearing the grievences of the victims, Naidu sent a word to the resident commissioner to meet him, but a little later he was told the official was not available.
He expressed his anger and even threatened to move privilege motion against him for his negligent behaviour and failure to attend to the victims.
He has asked the officials what was wrong for them to arrange rooms in the AP Bhavan. He said when Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi arranged special aircrafts to the Gujarat flood victims from Delhi for their return journey how is that AP government failed to do so.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
