Chandrababu Naidu's Delhi trip has hidden agenda: YSRCP

Hyderabad: TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu has suddenly pulled out of his Atma Gowrava Yatra and is bound for Delhi on a hidden agenda at a time when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has moved court for bail and it is not for discussing the Samaikyandhra issue as he has been projecting, YSR Congress has said.
“Such trips by TDP leaders to Delhi by now have become a pattern. At every important juncture of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s case, Naidu or is confidants have been seen lobbying in Delhi. This time around his tour has a hidden agenda and it is not to discuss the state affairs as he has announced,” party senior leader Umareddy Venkateswarlu told reporters here on Thursday.
Meeting the deadline set by Supreme Court, CBI has filed the charge-sheet and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has moved the court for bail. Immediately, N Chandrababu Naidu abruptly concludes his 11-day yatra, returns to city and announces that he will be going to Delhi to meet the President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. “He has already given a letter in favour of a separate state and concluded his Atma Gowrava Yatra in a huff. During his Yatra he has never said that the state should be united nor expressed his solidarity with Samaikyandhra,” Umareddy said.
There is no reason as to why he should be going to Delhi in such a hurry other than the sole intention to play spoilsport in Jagan’s case. During his Yatra, he hardly mentioned about the consequences of division or any other related issues but used very harsh words against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and YSRCP. The sequence of events clearly point towards the mischief Naidu is planning to play as his previous record shows that when ever, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s case comes to a crucial juncture, he has been lobbying in Delhi through his coterie, he said.
Close on the heels of TDP-delegation meeting the Finance Minister P Chidambaram and submitting a memorandum, the Enforcement Directorate issues orders to attach the assets. Now a day after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy moves the court for bail, Naidu announces that he will leave for Delhi. “We demand that he should announce the purpose of his Delhi tour in clear terms,” he said.
As we do not believe in coincidence, Naidu has to tell the reason behind his Delhi tour. Congress and TDP have been working in tandem to fight their common political adversary, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and it was evident from the understanding they had during by-elections and the case against our leader was filed by leaders of the two parties.
Naidu’s fear is that his base is eroding fast, while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s support is swelling. During the past four years TDP lost deposits in 26 of the 46 elections held and this was despite both parties working in tandem and transferring votes.
During his earlier padayatra, Naidu demeaned Congress Party and the Kiran Kumar Reddy government but when it mattered most, he issued a whip to his MLAs to abstain from the voting. Naidu has been on a Save Congress mission since long and in exchange he has been reaping undisclosed benefits.
The timing of his Delhi trip raises many doubts and we demand that he should clear the air before he leave for the national capital, he said.
