Chandy may meet gov today

The senior Congress leader, Mr Oommen Chandy, is likely to call on the governor, Mr R.S. Gavai, on Sunday evening and stake the claim to form the government after he is elected as the Congress Legislature Party leader.

The swearing-in of the new government is likely to be held on Monday.
The Congress Legislature Party meeting, which is scheduled to be held here on Sunday afternoon in the presence of AICC general secretary in-charge for Kerala, Mr Madhusudan Mistry, and Congress Working Committee member, Ms Mohsina Kidwai, will elect Mr Chandy as the parliamentary party leader.
Later in the evening a meeting of the UDF leaders will be held. After obtaining the consent of the UDF leaders, Mr Chandy will approach the governor. Subsequently, the governor will invite him to form the government.
In the meantime, all the coalition parties in the UDF will have to select their parliamentary party leaders. The ministerial candidates will also be selected by the UDF.
