Chargesheet filed against former AIADMK minister

Chargesheet has been filed against former AIADMK minister Nainar Nagendran and his relatives in a Rs 3.9 crore disproportionate assets case.

According to Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-corruption sources, Nainar Nagendran was MLA and minister in the AIADMK government from 2001 to 2006. He and his relatives had amassed Rs 3.9 crore worth assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, sources said.

In this connection, a case was registered against Nagendran, his wife and four other relatives under the Prevention of Corruption Act (1988) and IPC section 109 (punishment of abetment). DVAC DSP R. Manoharakumar filed the chargesheet at the Tirunelveli Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday.
