Chidambaram, family in Thekkady

Taking time off his busy schedule, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is in Thekkady hill resort in Kerala with his family on a two-day vacation.

Chidamabram, his wife Nalini and son Karthik and his family members arrived here on Friday afternoon by road from Madurai in Tamil Nadu, official sources said.

They later took a cruise in the famous Periyar Lake in the afternoon, enjoying the panoramic beauty of Kerala's eco tourism hub.

The minister is scheduled to leave on Monday, the sources said.
