Chilly winds bring down mercury level
Delhiites experienced a comparatively cold day after a brief spell of warm weather last week. The sun shone bright but the drop in temperature and icy winds made Monday a chilly day.
Chilly winds blew at a speed of 16 km per hour and the minimum temperature settled at 7.5º Celsius while the maximum was recorded at 18.2º Celsius.
“The wind speed measured between 13-16 km per hour. For the past couple of days, the city is experiencing icy winds. The city experienced chilly weather despite the mercury remaining above normal level,” a senior MeT official said.
Met officials predict that icy winds will continue to blow on Tuesday and the mercury is likely to hover between 8 and 19 degrees Celsius.
