Chintan Shivir unlikely before Budget Session
The Congress’ Chintan Shivir, a brainstorming session of the party, is unlikely to be held before the Budget Session of Parliament. Congress sources on Monday indicated that there is no urgency in calling the brainstorming session after the party plenary but it could be held during April-May, they felt.
When pointed out that the party would be busy that time in the election campaigning in five state Assemblies — West Bengal, TN, Assam, Kerala and Puducherry, they said since the party has decided to have such a shivir then it would have to be held probably before the monsoon. Congress chief Sonia Gandhi has already constituted a five-member committee to decide a venue, date and a theme for the shivir. Earlier, such brainstorming sessions were held at Panchmarhi and Shimla after Mrs Gandhi became party chief.
