Chopper carrying pilgrims makes emergency landing
A private helicopter carrying five Badrinath pilgrims on Friday made an emergency landing at Chamoli district due to poor visibility, official sources said.
No one was injured during the landing and the chopper, which belongs to Josh Airways, was also safe, they said.
The helicopter, which had taken off from Fata area of Rudraprayag district, was on its way to Badrinath.
Poor visibility apparently due to forest fires forced the pilot to land the helicopter near a school at Kilondi area, about 20 km from here.
After remaining grounded for nearly two hours, the chopper then left for Badrinath.
