Chouhan sets up Bhopal probe panel
Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday expressed disappointment over the central government’s stand on various Bhopal gas disaster related issues and announced that a one-member inquiry commission would be appointed to probe matters linked with the gas tragedy, especially the release of former chairman of Union Carbide Corporation Warren Anderson.
He said that the one-man commission, to be headed by a retired judge of the high court, will present its report within a fixed timeframe.
Mr Chouhan said it is unfortunate that the government has been dithering when it came to addressing issues relating to the gas affected people.
