CLINTON MOOTS INDIA, CHINA, U.S. TRIANGLE
US secretary of state Hillary Clinton on Sunday proposed a “strong, constructive” relationship between India, China and the US to solve “pressing issues” of the 21st century.
India’s leadership will “help to shape” positively the future not only of South and Central Asia, but also of the Asia Pacific, she said urging New Delhi not just to “look East, but to engage East”.
Outlining a new US thinking, 63-year-old Clinton told PTI here that her country was committed to a strong, constructive relationship among India, the US and China.
“We know this will not always be easy. There are important matters on which we all disagree, one with the other. But we do have significant areas of common interest.
“Ultimately, if we want to address or solve some of the pressing issues of the 21st century, India, China and the US will have to coordinate our efforts,” she said.

Lokpal panel audio records to be disclosed
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, Oct. 9
The government has agreed to make public the audio recordings of the closed-door proceedings of the Lokpal Bill joint drafting committee. DoPT had earlier refused to do so.
Responding to an RTI query, DoPT had said it required the law ministry’s approval before releasing the audio recordings. “It may be further noted that the matter relating to RTI queries on audio recordings of the JDC has been referred to the department of legal affairs in the ministry of law and justice for clarification,” DoPT had said.
But now it has written back to activist S.C. Agrawal saying, “The audio recordings of the meetings of the JDC for drafting the Lokpal Bill have now become available with the undersigned. There are nine CDs and you may deposit copying fee of `450 so that copies of the CDs can be supplied to you.”
