CM Raman Singh’s debut movie out today
Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh’s debut movie Ajab Jingi, Gazab Jingi (Strange Life, Great Life), a Chhattisgarhi film, is set to be released across the state on Friday.
The chief minister in his new role as an actor seems to have generated much interest among the movie buffs in Chhattisgarh, as all the five theatres including the one in Raipur, where the film is slated to be released, have closed their advance booking for first day’s shows.
“Tickets for all the shows on the release date in five theatres have been sold out. This is a rare phenomenon in Chhalliwood (Chhattisgarhi film industry)”, the film’s local distributor S. Jain told this newspaper here on Thursday. Dr Singh has a two-minute role in the three-hour family drama, seen giving a pat on the back of the main character — Karan Khan, donning the role of a scientist — for making numerous inventions to improve life of rural people in the state.
The chief minister, replaying his real life role in the reel life, exhorts the youth to work for the development of the state and details his government’s various programmes for their development.
“We took the chief minister’s shot in his official residence recently. He gave the perfect shot in the first attempt itself,” Amit Jain, producer of the film told this newspaper here on Thursday.
“The chief minister’s role fits into the script. We have not imposed his role in the movie for mere publicity purpose,” he claimed.
The film is directed jointly by Prabhakar Burman and Ajey Dubey and the music is scored by Gore Lal Burman.
