CM set to visit riot-hit areas today

UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav is expected to visit the riot-hit areas in Muzaffarnagar district on Sunday.
This will be the first time that the chief minister is visiting the riot-affected areas in western UP.

According to sources, Mr Yadav is also expected to visit the relief camps and meet the people who have been hit by the communal clashes.
He is, in particular, scheduled to meet members of the minority community who have suffered loss of life and property.
The chief minister will also take stock of the relief work done in the post-riot period and hold deliberations with the local officials about the present situation.
The district officials have already started preparing for the chief minister’s visit and the pot-holed road to Kanwal village where the riots began, is being freshly laid.
