CM unveils campaign blitzkrieg

Apparently impervious to a storm created by suspended IPS officer D.G. Vanzara’s explosive letter slamming him, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday announced a blitz in which he would address a string of events including a video conference speech to Indian diaspora in the US this month.
Mr Modi, head of BJP’s Election Campaign Committee, has disclosed details of his scheduled itinerary through his blog on twitter. “Many friends have been asking me about my public meetings through this month. Sharing the schedule decided as of now,” Modi tweeted on Wednesday on the mircoblogging site sharing a link leading to the details of the schedule.
As per the schedule, Mr Modi will be addressing about ten public events which include rallies, Global Gujarat Agriculture Summit, a Bharatnatyam dance festival, a video conference address to Indian diaspora in US and a Global Marketing Summit covering eight states across the country.
In his home state, Modi will be addressing and participating in two events.

CPM: Modi must resign
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, Sept. 4

The CPI(M) on Wednesday demanded the resignation of Gujarat chief minister and sought his prosecution following charges levelled against him and his government by jailed IPS officer D.G. Vanzara.
“Narendra Modi should be prosecuted in the concerned cases and should forthwith step down from office. .... In the meanwhile, the bail of Amit Shah should be cancelled,” the CPI(M) Politburo said in a statement.
The CPI(M) demanded a Supreme Court-supervised inquiry be initiated to “uncover the full facts” in the CD case relating to the purported conversation of some BJP leaders on the killing of Tulsiram Prajapati “so as to file criminal charges against those involved.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
