Collector refutes Alagiri charge
District collector U. Sahayam on Wednesday refuted the allegation that he had spoken about change of government in Tamil Nadu at a function here recently and said such a charge has been made only to “divert” him from election-related work.
Union minister M.K. Alagiri had alleged that Sahayam stated that it was natural for the people to expect a change during the elections and that he would take it up with the Election Commission. The collector told reporters here that his speech at the Lady Doak College on March 24 had been recorded on video. “Any person can listen to it. The charge has been made only to divert me from my work,” he said. — PTI
