College girl found dead

An 18-year-old college student was found dead at her residence here with her mother accusing their neighbour of raping and killing the girl, police said today.

Anjali was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her home in Nawabganj locality yesterday by her mother, who had gone with her two other children and a neighbour to Bithoor for a dip in the Ganga, they said.

The woman accused one of their neighbours of raping and murdering her daughter.

A search is on to nab the neighbour, who fled after the mother raised an alarm, police said.
