Complaint against Kejriwal: Court seeks ATR from police
The Delhi police on Saturday directed by a court here to inform it as to what action it has taken on a complaint against key team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal for his alleged derogatory remarks against parliamentarians.
Metropolitan Magistrate Purshotam Pathak directed the Delhi Police to file an Action Taken Report (ATR) by April 11.
The complaint was filed by petitioner Vibhor Anand, a law student. Kejriwal had in his speech in an election campaign rally in Ghaziabad last month allegedly called MPs ‘rapists, murderers and looters’, evoking sharp reactions from politicians.
"In this Parliament, 163 members have cases of heinous offences against them.
In this Parliament, rapists are sitting, murderers and looters are sitting. How can you expect Jan Lokpal Bill to be passed by Parliament? How can you expect that you can get reprieve from poverty and corruption"? Kejriwal had said.
