Cong appeals to Opp for cooperation
Concerned over the logjam between government and the Opposition on the issue of constituting a joint parliamentary committee (JPC) probe into alleged 2-G spectrum allocation scam, the ruling Congress on Monday, while offering the New Year greeting to one and all, appealed to the Opposition to allow reason to prevail on them and give constructive cooperation.
Making the appeal, while wishing the nation a very “Happy New Year”, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Sighvi said, “Many legislative and policy decisions are waiting for Opposition’s constructive cooperation to be accomplished. Nation urgently needs them for better future.”
Noting that unless “we start with constructive cooperation”, Mr Singhvi said the country would suffer. “We are not too far from 2020, the year in which we have to attain our millennium goals. I hope and trust that we will be able to make constructive beginning in the New Year,” he said.
