Cong blames its non-active partymen: BJP
The BJP on Wednesday said the Congress is in a habit of putting the blame of its wrong doings on those leaders who are not currently active in politics.
Reacting to the news reports on the book recently released by the Congress commemorating its 125 years of existence, the main Opposition party said even though
Congress, after 35 years, admitted that Emergency was a mistake, it tried to put the blame on others. But the Congress rejected the suggestions that the party is trying to put blame only on late Sanjay Gandhi claiming that in the same book he has been projected as a leader of “eminence and prominence”. According to reports appearing in a section of the media, which interpreted a portion of the book, blaming the late Congress leader for the excesses during Emergency.
Without naming anyone, BJP national spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said, “After 35 years, the Congress has accepted that the Emergency was a mistake. But they are trying to heap the blame for their mistake on others. The Congress always tries to hide its wrong-doings.”
When pressed further that the book has mentioned late Sanjay Gandhi’s involvement in the excesses during the Emergency, Mr Hussain said, “Each Congress leader was responsible for it but it is not our culture to blame those who are dead. Congress always tries to distance itself from controversial issues...”
