Cong, cpi(m) snub didi over federal front
The Congress and CPI(M) on Tuesday snubbed chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who had called the non-Congress and non-BJP regional parties to form the federal front for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Ms Banerjee posted her appeal on her Facebook page on Monday after veteran BJP leader L.K. Advani resigned from three posts.
Criticising the chief minister, Left-Front chairman Biman Bose said, “It is surprising to hear about the formation of federal front from a person whose party itself is plagued by factional feuds.”
Echoing on the same lines, minister of state for railways and senior Congress leader Adhir Chowdhury attacked CM Mamata Banerjee saying that those who have failed to serve the state are eyeing for the Centre.
Advising the chief minister on the safety and security of the women and the present condition in the state, Mr Chowdhury said, “Work for the state first.”
Earlier, women were unsafe during the nights but they are unsafe even during the daylights.”
Ms Banerjee had also posted the message on her social networking site page, “Time has come for all the regional parties to come together and form a federal front in the coming Lok Sabha election.”
Making an appeal to all the regional parties, her post also read, “I appeal to all the non-Congress, non-BJP regional parties to launch a united fight to free the country from misrule and anti-people decisions, and work together to build a better and brighter India.”
