Cong, DMK against draft PAC report
The draft report of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the 2G scam, expected to be finalised on Thursday, is all set to be opposed by members of DMK and Congress.
Sources disclosed that members are all set to give a dissent note to the draft report. The committee, headed by senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, however, is likely to target the government for “lack of action” in the entire 2G scam.
The PAC is expected to remain a major irritant for the Congress, as Dr Joshi is likely to be re-nominated as its chief, after the PAC is reconstituted on May 1.
The term of the current PAC, expires on April 30. In a letter to committee members, Dr Joshi, had mentioned that Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has already decided that the role of PAC cannot be “diluted.”
