Cong handpicks 60 to take on Team Modi
About 60 select spokespersons and panellists from Team Rahul will take on Team Modi on each and every issue which the Gujarat strongman thinks would help in the upcoming battle for power.
The Congress has trained these spokespersons and panellists at a five-day workshop held here recently.
The workshop, in fact, turned into a brainstorming session for those who were trained on 21 key issues which could figure directly and indirectly during press conferences and TV discussions in the coming days. The delegates were give a 1,200-page background material on important issues before the workshop began.
During the workshop, the chosen 60 participated in simulated TV debates, being grilled by aggressive anchors, fielded with sharp, pointed questions in subgroups and asked to speak on key issues for a few minutes and thereby assessed on their performance.
Inflation and corruption are the two issues which the BJP and its PM candidate, Mr Narendra Modi, will exploit during the election campaign, but the Congress is confident of turning the tables on them.
Stability and communal harmony will be the Congress’ main plank in the electoral battle to counter the BJP’s divisive card through Mr Modi to gain mileage in UP and Bihar.
