Cong: NDA paper tigers
The Congress party on Wednesday attacked the BJP-led NDA for making Prime Minister Manmohan Singh the target of their attack on the 2G spectrum allocation controversy. “They are paper tigers,” it said and asked the BJP how many corrupt leaders it has been shielding. Dubbing the main Opposition the “Bangaru Judeo Party”,
Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi asked, “How can a party of Dilip Singh Judeo and Bangaru Lakshman (former BJP president) have a rally against corruption” while drawing attention to corruption scandals in which the names of these leaders had surfaced. He said the “champions of inaction on corruption are preaching to those who have declared a war on corruption”. “It was a rally by hypocrites who have got their names registered in the Guinness Book of Records for their expertise in parliamentary disruption,” he said and asked why the main Opposition has been shielding Karnataka CM B.S. Yeddyurappa.
