Cong panel on media talks strategy
The Congress media managers on Friday held deliberations on how to project the party’s image in a better way in public as the Opposition braces to attack the ruling combine on the issue of corruption inside and outside Parliament.
The meeting, chaired by AICC general secretary and media department chief Janardan Dwivedi, was attended, among others, by minister of state for parliamentary affairs Ashwini Kumar, party spokespersons Manish Tewari, Rajiv Shukla, Mohan Prakash and senior party leader Girija Vyas. However, a large number of the 19-member media panel to present party views on television channels could not make it to the meeting.
Party leaders remained tightlipped on what transpired in the meeting. Mr Shukla termed it an “internal meeting”. However, an indication was evident that the party could focus on the issue of Karnataka to turn the tables on the BJP.
