Cong plans coordination committees
The Congress high command has directed all its ruling states to form a “coordination committee” to maintain better coordination between the government and the organisation. “We will soon constitute a committee in the state,” says a senior party leader.
According to the sources, the high command learnt that there was a need to develop a better understanding between the two power centres in the Congress-ruling states. “Though chief minister Ashok Gehlot has already keep the organisation in high spirit, but now all Congress-ruled states will have a coordination committee,” says the party sources.
According to the sources, the Congress has been in power in Rajasthan for last two years and has never witnessed a conflict between the party and the state government. But the organisation was still waiting for a full-time state president as the post was occupied by Union minister C.P. Joshi, who has several other responsibilities, including the state Cricket Association. The high command already processed appointment of a new state president for Rajasthan, but it could not take place. It got delayed in appointments of several key posts in boards, corporations and the government bodies.
Mr Gehlot had a three-hour long meeting with Mr Joshi on Sunday to discuss organisational issues. The government has to make appointments in the Minority Commission.
