‘Cong won’t act against Delhi CM’
Chhattisgarh chief minister Raman Singh on Sunday asserted that the Congress leadership will never take any action against his Delhi counterpart Shiela Dikshit for her alleged role in the CWG scam for “many reasons”.
“One of the reasons, that is being talked about in the Central power corridor in Delhi, is that the big fishes involved in the scam may be exposed if the noose is further tightened around Ms Dikshit’s neck on the matter”, Mr Singh told reporters here, daring the Congress leadership to take the Delhi CM to task.
He said the CAG has clearly indicted both the PMO and the Delhi chief minister in the scandal, and wondered what more evidence was required to take action against Ms Dikshit.
Ridiculing the AICC spokesman’s statement that the charges levelled against Ms Sheila Dikshit were minor in nature which does not warrant action against her, Mr Singh said, “Any charge, whether minor or grave, levelled against a person of public standing should be taken seriously to maintain probity in public life”.
