Congress’ bad days have begun, says Gadkari
BJP national president Nitin Gadkari Thursday launched a tirade on the Congress-led UPA for the economic problems in the country while expressing optimism to party cadre that Congress’ bad days have begun, auguring well for the BJP.
“India is facing a serious situation today. Farmers are committing suicide, the rupee is depreciating, FDI has stopped coming, our industrialists are investing outside India. If anyone is responsible for all these, it is the Congress-led UPA and its wrong and corrupt policies,” he said at the plenary session of the two-day state BJP conference here.
He listed other problems too, like the crisis in the aviation sector and the decline in the rate of GDP growth to flay the ruling dispensation at the Centre and said the BJP is the only hope for the country to come out of the situation plaguing the nation.
He also said the massive gathering at the conference gives hope the party will do well in the 2014 parliamentary elections.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, State BJP president Pon Radhakrishnan said the 45-year-old Dravidian rule in Tamil Nadu has left it languishing in all areas.
“Power cuts are destroying industries, the state has lost its rights to all river waters.”
He also stressed the need for changes in the education sector and said the BJP alone is capable of protecting the interests of the state, as the Congress is a spent force in Tamil Nadu.
Muralidhar Rao, national general secretary, said separate organisations become active whenever the BJP organises any programme in Tamil Nadu, because they fear the BJP.
