Congress MLA arrested by CBI
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday arrested Congress MLA from Luni Assembly constituency (Rajasthan), Malkhan Singh, in connection with its probe related to the abduction and suspected murder of Jodhpur’s auxiliary nurse-cum-folk singer Bhanwari Devi, 36. The agency has already arrested Parasram Bishnoi, brother of Malkhan Singh, in connection with the case.
According to sources Malkhan Singh, who was evading questioning for the past several days, knows about the conspiracy behind Bhanwari’s abduction and suspected murder, but he was not revealing the facts. He was arrested during questioning, sources said, adding he gave conflicting versions during questioning and remained un-cooperative.
Sources further said, “He was evading repeated summons issued by the agency for questioning. Finally, he appeared for the questioning before the agency officials at the Circuit House in Jodhpur on Monday. The agency officials arrested when he failed to satisfactorily reply to the questions put before him.”
The CBI earlier called Malkhan’s three sons and two daughters-in-law at the Circuit House and grilled them to know whereabouts of the MLA. Former Rajasthan minister Mahipal Maderna’s wife Leela Maderna was also questioned by the agency sleuths in connection with the case.
