Congress: No option ruled out
Ahead of the all-party meeting to be held on February 8 to end the logjam in Parliament, the Congress on Thursday said no option was ruled out to break the stalemate over a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum scam.
“I cannot comment on the details of the contours of the solution. All I can say is that virtually every possibility is open so long as the House, which is constitutionally created for such a purpose, is used for discussion,” party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi told reporters here.
He was responding to a question on whether the government is working on a quid pro quo formulae with the opposition to announce JPC after a discussion on the issue is held in the House.

Feb. 3: The UP police has arrested Sanjeev Awasthi, PCC member from Banda district.
Sources said that Mr Awasthi was picked up from Lucknow airport on Wednesday evening when he arrived there on a flight from Delhi and then taken to Kanpur where he was officially arrested on Thursday.
Police officials claimed that Awasthi was arrested with counterfeit currency and could be a part of a larger inter-state racket. Meanwhile, UPCC president Rita Bahuguna Joshi claimed that the Congress leader was being framed in a false criminal case because he had filed several PILs against the state government.
