Congress recruits to counter TRS, YSRC

Adilabad: The Congress plans to  lure YSR Congress leaders to  counter the TRS and YSRC in the North Telangana districts. To begin with, Adilabad YSRC convenor Boda Janardhan will join the party in the presence of Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy at Mandamarri on June 27.
Janardhan will hold mandal-level meetings with his supporters to  mobilise nearly 25,000 people from Adilabad and Karimnagar, when he joins the party.
The Congress too wants to send a strong message across about YSRC leaders joining the Congress due to their lack of faith in that party.
The Congress has been in search of a senior leader from the SC community to field from Peddapalli MP constituency and has found one in Janardhan. Former Congress MLC K.Premsagar Rao is said to have played a key role in convincing Janardhan by assuring him of a Congress ticket from  Peddapalli MP constituency to counter G. Vivek, a former Congress MP and a staunch rival of the Chief Minister. Vivek is now contesting on a TRS ticket. The YSRC is planning to field Nalla Suryaprakash from the same constituency.
Janardhan has served as a minister during the TDP regime and is a senior leader with good equation with the people. When contacted, Janardhan confirmed that “top Congress leaders have contacted me,” and that he is, “still waiting for a positive response to his request for allotment of the concerned seat from YSRC leadership.”
Speculation is rife in political circles that an internal understanding has been reached between the YSRC and TRS for fielding the candidates in the next elections.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
