Congress says it has strength to face AP no-trust motion

Hyderabad: The ruling Congress in Andhra Pradesh has the strength to face the no-confidence motion proposed to be moved by the TRS, the party's state unit said today.
"I doubt if it (no-confidence motion) will be accepted at all. We have the strength to prove majority," Andhra Pradesh Congress President D Srinivas said told reporters here.
He was replying to questions about the TRS' decision to move a no-confidence motion against the Government in the budget session of the Assembly beginning on February 17.
Asked about the decision of the Telangana political Joint Action Committee (JAC), that also comprises Government employees, to start a non-cooperation agitation from February 17, Srinivas said the Government was holding discussions with the staff.
Seeking to corner TDP, TRS has said it will move a no-confidence motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government in the budget session and asked the main Opposition party to support it in the same.
The TRS decision has come in the wake of a war of words between TDP and TRS. The TDP has alleged that the TRS is not sincere in achieving separate Telangana, and had a clandestine understanding with the Congress.
"We will move a no-confidence motion against the Congress Government. If TDP is sincere in fighting against Congress, it should support us," TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao has said.
