Congress urges EC to take action
The Congress on Monday hits back at JD(U) president Sharad Yadav for his personal attack on young Congress leader Rahul Gandhi by saying that the “nervous” leader of the ruling party in Bihar had lost his sense of “political balance”. It also demanded that Election Commission should enquire into JD(U) leader’s statement and take strict action against him.
Responding to the JD(U) leader’s jibe against the Congress’ youth icon in which Mr Yadav suggested that Mr Gandhi should be thrown away into the Ganga, AICC spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed said, “It is but natural that the JD-U president has got panicky as Rahulji is drawing huge crowds during campaigning in Bihar. He has lost his political balance completely.” Addressing an election rally at Fatuah in Bihar Mr Yadav launched an unusually strong personal attack on the Gandhi-Nehru family and said, “Rahul Gandhi should be thrown away into the Ganga.”
