Court rejects CBI’s clean chit to Kanth

Former Indian Police Service officer Amod Kanth is in trouble as a Delhi court on Thursday rejected the closure report of the CBI, which had given him a clean chit in the Uphaar inferno case after noting that there was sufficient evidence to prosecute him for allegedly allowing extra seats in the hall, which allegedly led to closure of exit gates where 59 cinemagoers died in the blaze 13 years ago.
