Court sets aside govt order, relief to KPS Gill
The Delhi high court on Friday set aside the Union government’s decision to de-recognise the Indian Hockey Federation and fined the ministry of sports and youth affairs and the Indian Olympic Association Rs 10,000 each over the issue.
Justice S. Murlidhar, after hearing a petition filed by K.P.S. Gill, who contended that IOA’s move to dissolve the IHF was arbitrary and illegal, quashed the Centre’s decision to de-recognise the IHF and the IOA’s de-affiliation of the hockey federation.
