CPI(M), Congress are main political rivals: BJP
Noting that the Congress and CPI(M) are BJP's key political rivals, V. Muraleedharan, BJP state president, asserted that his party will have no truck with communal outfits, in the forthcoming civic polls in the state.
Addressing a meet-the-press programme organised by the Kozhikode Press Club here, Muraleedharan alleged that Muslim League, CPI(M) and Congress have alliances in several parts of the state where the BJP is very strong.
Mr Muraleedharan said that his party would perform well as the people are not happy with the performances of the LDF government and UDF as an opposition.
The election will also be an evaluation of both the state and Congress-led UPA government performances, he said. Refuting the allegation that several of BJP members have resigned from the party in Thrissur district, he said that the party has about 74,000 members in the district and around 100 have been sacked from the party.
The party will do well in Kozhikode Corporation, he said, adding the party had fielded candidates in 67 seats out of the 75 in the corporation.
Replying to a query on the crisis in the 29-month old BJP government in Karnataka, he said “there is no problem in the Karnataka government. There are capable people in that state to solve if there is any problem”.
