Cracks in BJP on Modi are growing
The BJP’s “crusade” against the Congress seems to have run into trouble within. While some MPs have questioned the leadership for its “cooperation” with the Congress on passing the Food Security Bill and Land Acquisition Bill, leaders like L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj, and CMs like Raman Singh and Shivraj Singh Chouhan have reservations over declaring Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as the party’s PM candidate ahead of the Assembly elections in five states. With IPS officer D.G. Vanzara also coming out against Mr Modi, the Advani camp wants all plans to project him as PM candidate kept on hold. The RSS is adamant on this.
