Jawan tries to kidnap woman
Hyderabad: An army soldier was arrested by Neredmet police on Monday after locals complained that he allegedly misbehaved and tried to abduct a 19-year-old girl.
According to the police the girl was passing by a road in the Defence Colony when he followed her and misbehaved with her.
As per the complaint Pramod Reddy, a soldier of the Army camp at Bollarum, allegedly misbehaved with the girl and attempted to abduct her at the Defence Colony. Locals came to her rescue as she raised an alarm. They caught hold of the armyman and handed him over to the police.
The police has taken Pramod into custody and has registered a complaint under attempt to kidnap provisions and outraging the modesty of a woman.Investigations are on in the matter.

Chennai: In a day light burglary at least 50 sovereigns of gold and cash `2 lakh were reportedly burgled from the house of 42-year-old woman, Suchitra, from Nolambur on Sunday while she was attending a residential Yoga class in Shenoy Nagar.
The police however on Monday said that two persons who referred the Yoga class and took her to the yoga centre had stolen her house key from her bag.
While the woman was in Shenoy Nagar, the two identified as Jagadish and Rama reached her house and took away the valuables.
“There was no break in. The two had used the keys to open the house and burgled. We are interrogating them,” the police said. On Monday, the state government issued an order for constituting a high-level committee to assess the extent of crop loss and drought suffered in TN owing to a deficit monsoon that left Cauvery parched and farmers depending on it restive.

Kochi: The Palarivattom police on Monday took a woman auto driver in custody on charge of engaging in a brawl. The woman was identified as one Subhadra, 36, of Idukki. According to police, Subhadra had consumed large quantity of alcohol and was creating a scene near Gold Souk shopping mall.
The local people gathered at the scene and informed the police immediately. The police said a case has been registered under IPC 118-A. She will be produced before the court on Tuesday. The police said she has been living in Kannadikkadavu near Vyttila since taking up the auto-driver’s job in city.
