Man kills wife, 2 kids for the sake of remarriage
Malappuram: A man, who found his wife standing in the way of his lust for a second woman in marriage, murdered his wife and two daughters at Alukkal under Areekode police station limits in the district early on Monday.
Local people woke up to the stunning sight of a two-wheeler by the side of a pond fed by the rains, lending the impression that the woman and daughters, accompanying Mohammed Shareef, on the two-wheeler drowned as the vehicle skidded off the road.
Victims have been identified as Shereef’s wife Sabira, 21, of Koodamthudi at Poonkudi near Alukkal and daughters Fathima Fidha, 4&1/2 and Faifa, 2.
Shareef, who sought to sell the story that his wife and daughters drowned as his scooter skidded off, told the police the mishap occurred at 2.30 a.m. when they were returning to their house at Poonkudi after purchasing dress from Kozhikode.
They were rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital but doctors declared the three as brought dead. The relatives and the local people alleged foul play in the incident. The police are trying to find out why they were returning at odd hours using a bike though the family owns a car, and how the husband survived.
Locals came to know about the incident only when Shareef told them about it after rescuing a child, police said. Areekode police earlier registered a case under section 304 A (causing death by negligence) of IPC. Manjeri Circle Inspector V.A. Krishna told DC that all angles in the case will be probed. “The officials of forensic department conducted an examination,” he added.
