‘Sex chat’ used to take revenge on colleague
Hyderabad: An assistant director of Animal Husbandry department found an odd way to extact revenge on a colleague against whom he bore a grudge.
Dr V. Ashok Kumar, 49, created a fake email ID in a woman’s name, did a 'sex chat' with Dr Muralidhar and sent the chat history to his wife. Marital discord broke out and Dr Muralidhar, 43, lodged a complaint with the Cyberabad Cyber Crime Police, who took a month to track down the 'chat artiste, Dr Kumar, at his office at Ghanpur in Warangal.
Dr. Muralidhar, who runs a private veterinary clinic at Banjara Hills was bewildered to find that his arch rival was his 'chat buddy'.
The Cyber Crime Police said that the accused, Ashok Kumar, and Muralidhar had a professional fall out.
“Both are vets and acquaintances. Ashok who had developed an animosity towards the victim, planned to take revenge in this way,” said Cyber Crime inspector Narender Reddy. Ashok Kumar was arrested and charged under Section 66 of the IT Act and produced before the court. He later secured bail in the case.

Hyderabad: A Class VI student, 11-year-old B. Swami, set himself ablaze after allegedly being beaten by his school principal at Banjara Hills on Friday. He succumbed to the burn injuries early on Saturday. At the time of the incident, Swami’s parents were not home.
B. Srinu, Swami’s father, alleged that his son had been beaten up by Venkateswaralu, the principal of Sri Ragavendra Model School, for a petty reason.
Swami, who went to school at 8 am on Friday, returned home in the afternoon and locked the house from inside. His father was out for work, and his mother had gone to an eye hospital for treatment. The boy then attempted suicide.
“Neighbours and the landlord noticed the smoke coming from the house and barged in. They extinguished the fire and rushed Swami to Osmania General Hospital. However, he had sustained 70 per cent burns,” said Banjara Hills sub-inspector Vijay Kumar.
Srinu, who is a driver, said the boy was very depressed when he returned from school on Thursday. “When his mother asked him why he was sad, he said that the principal beat him up in front of other students for a petty reason. He did not want to go to school on Friday, but his mother convinced him,” Srinu said. “The principal may have harassed him again,” he said.
Though Swami’s parents have lodged a complaint, police is yet to book a case against the principal. “We have a complaint, however, we are checking the facts. We need to talk to Swami’s classmates,” Vijay Kumar said.

Chennai: A 40-year-old engineer hailing from Andhra Pradesh was arrested in Chennai on Saturday, for taking obscene photographs with his cellphone of a woman travelling in the train.
Based on a complaint from an advocate who followed him in the train, railway police arrested E.V. Kuruvaiah, 40, of Guntur. Kuruvaiah, who works as a quality control engineer in a private firm in Vijayawada, came to Chennai on official duty.
He was travelling from Pattibhiram railway station, a western suburb of Chennai, to Chennai Central by electric train on Saturday morning.
During the course of the journey, he took photographs of women travelling in the train on his mobile phone. After alighting from the train, he continued clicking at the Moore Market complex railway station.
Advocate Tamilrasan who followed him from Pattibhiram railway station, alerted railway police. DSP V. Ponramu sent a team led by a lady sub-inspector Sasi and arrested Kuruvaiah.
On preliminary investigation, they found that he had taken more than 300 photographs of women train passengers and women passing by. Police seized his cell phone and arrested him under section 66 (E) (b) of the Information Technology Act 2000.
He was produced before the XVI Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Police are investigating whether he transmitted the images to anyone or published the images on a website.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police busted a gang of dacoits by arresting nine members of the gang on Saturday. They had robbed two businesspersons of Rs 1 crore at Alwal five months ago.
Police recovered stolen property worth Rs 60 lakh from the dacoits. Gang leader Dasari Anvesh had chalked out the plan to recover the money he had invested with the victims in a gold busi ness. Six gang mem bers had barged into a house in Khanojiguda and robbed the busi nesspersons at gun point on February 25.
Malkajgiri DCP V. Siva Kumar said Anvesh, 25, had got acquainted with a businesswoman named A. Jayanthi.
“Avnesh says Jayanthi had taken a few lakhs from him by promising to get him gold at a price lower than the market value. However, she neither delivered the gold nor returned the money. So, Avnesh drew up a plan to rob her,“ he said. He took the help of the second accused K.O.Radhakrishna. Both waited for a chance.
Meanwhile, the com plainant in this case, Bachu Venkat Kumar, a realtor, started a busi ness transaction with Jayanthi, who asked him to bring `1crore in cash. “On February 25, when the money trans action was being con ducted in a house at Khanojiguda, the gang members broke into the house and brandished a country-made pistol and knives. They fled with the money,“ the DCP said.

Hyderabad: City police nabbed a 40-year-old man near the American Consulate at Begumpet with a firearm on Saturday.
The North Zone Task Force was conducting vehicle checks near the Consulate in the afternoon when the man, a realtor, was caught by the police. As he could not produce an original copy of the weapon’s licence, the Task Force officials handed him over to the Begumpet police along
with the weapon. However, he later produced the licence. “We verified the licence and released the person and weapon,” the Begumpet police said. Nabbed and freed The man was nabbed with the firearm during a vehicle check. Hyderabad: Cyberabad joint commissioner of police M. Siva Prasad’s brother M. Ram Prasad died in a road accident in Nellore on Friday. Ram Prasad, 45, was the tehsildar of Medak Urban tehsil and was married to M. Shruthi, who hails from Nellore.
He went there to see his wife but died in an accident after an autorickshaw hit him from behind. He died on the spot.
