Decision on Kasab’s mercy plea soon, says Shinde
Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Tuesday said the decision on mercy petition of Ajmal Kasab- the lone surviving terrorist of 26/11 Mumbai carnage- would be taken 'as early as possible' after due deliberations.
“I had already told that his decision was declared that time itself. We will process as early as possible. It is being discussed internally. There will be more meetings on this. At the proper time the decision will be taken,” he told mediapersons here.
Earlier in the day, Pakistani terrorist Ajmal Kasab filed a mercy plea in connection with his role in the 26/11 terror attacks case. His mercy petition has been sent to the President''s office by Arthur Road Jail officials.
The Supreme Court had earlier upheld the death sentence awarded to him in the terror attacks in which 166 people were killed.
