Delhi blast: 2 more held in Kishtwar
The Jammu and Kashmir have detained two more persons in Kishtwar district for questioning over last week’s Delhi high court blast that killed 13 people.
Two other suspects, identified as Shariq Ahmed Butt and Abid Hussein Wani, were detained Monday. Three of the five others, including the owner of a
cybercafé, from where an email claiming responsibility for the blast on behalf of the Bangladesh-based Harkat-ul-Jihadi Islami (HuJI) was purportedly sent, have been released.
Police sources said Butt and Wani, both Class 11 students, were formally arrested after a case was registered under Section 120B IPC. Local newspaper reports quoting police sources said police and NIA officials were trying to zero in on an educated person, possibly a lawyer or a teacher, who is believed to have provided the text of the email to be sent to the media claiming responsibility for the blast. Sources said since the person who sent the mail was a teenager studying in Class 12, the investigating agencies suspected he had been supplied the email text either in writing or through SMS.
Union home secretary R.K. Singh said Wednesday in New Delhi that the NIA had some clues and “some people have been arrested and are being interrogated”. But he didn’t give any details, saying: “We don’t want to disclose what progress we‘ve made as it will hamper the investigation.”
The NIA on Tuesday raised the reward for anyone giving information about the perpetrators from `5 lakhs to `10 lakhs.
