Dhoni may quit Tests to play in ’15 World Cup

Mahendra Singh Dhoni hints he’ll quit Test cricket if he decides to lead India’s World Cup defence in Australia and New Zealand in 2015.
Dhoni, who led India to World Cup triumph in April, said it was still too early to decide if he’d be around for the next tournament.
“Well, if I want to see the 2015 World Cup in, I’ll have to retire from one of the formats,” he told a press conference ahead of the third Test against Australia.
“It’s too early right now. I’m not that old. I’m just 30. There’s still time. We’ll see by the end of 2013.”
Dhoni, captain of India’s Test, ODI and Twenty20 sides, carries the extra burden of keeping wicket, and wants to ensure there is a successor.
“By 2013 I’d have to see where I stand when it comes to my body, whether I will be able to survive for the 2015 World Cup... It’s not personal interest, it’s for the country. If someone is taking my place, (he) should have played at least 60-100 ODIs before going into the World Cup.”

Congress offer of talks to end trinamul rift
Age Correspondent
New Delhi, Jan. 12

The Congress on Thursday offered to hold talks with Trinamul Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to iron out their differences.
The AICC’s West Bengal in-charge, Mr Shakeel Ahmed, describing Ms Banerjee as a “valued ally”, asked the state Congress unit not avoid “harsh words” against the TMC. He said no party leader had talked of “dumping Trinamul after the UP elections. West Bengal PCC president Pradip Bhattacharya has been called here for consultations in the wake of the strained relationship with the Trinamul Congress.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
