Did Pawan Hans violate DGCA rules?
Top government aviation sources said on Monday that the state-run Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd. appears to be guilty of violation of standard operating procedure by operating a single-engine copter to ferry the Arunachal Pradesh chief minister, a VIP. Sources said single-engine copters should not be used to ferry VIPs, as per the DGCA rules.
But Pawan Hans sources had told this newspaper that as per the arrangement worked out earlier with the Arunachal government, it was the state government that chose the single-engine copter to fly the chief minister. The ministry said on Monday that there was no information so far on the whereabouts or location of the missing Pawan Hans copter carrying the CM that went missing on Saturday.
