Diggy to give Karkare call details today
AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh may have the last laugh on his claim that he had a telephonic conversation with slain Mumbai ATS chief Hemant Karkare a few hours before he was assassinated, as he plans to hold a press conference on Tuesday with call details.
It is to be remembered here that Maharashtra home minister R.R. Patil had then raised doubts about Mr Singh’s claim. Even main Opposition BJP had criticised Mr Singh for his remarks in which he had claimed that Karkare had told him that he faced threats from “Hindu fundamentalists”. “Despite the fact that the BSNL does not keep a record of telephone calls for more than a year, I have got the record after I talked to some concerned people and I will be showing it to you tomorrow,” Mr Singh said.
