Diggy won’t contest ls polls from home turf

Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh, who was in Guna district Saturday, has taken everyone by surprise by announcing he will not contest the next Lok Sabha election from Rajgarh parliamentary constituency, which happens to be his home turf.

Since Mr Singh had earlier given the indication that he is ready to contest the next Lok Sabha election, his categorical announcement was a topic of discussion in Congress headquarters here on Saturday.
Congress insiders in Madhya Pradesh are now busy analysing Mr Singh’s announcement.
His supporters are pointing out that by keeping the options open and by giving the initiative to the party regarding the final decision about his return to electoral politics makes Mr. Singh larger than life in state Congress politics.
