Digvijay asks Chouhan to give up fast
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh has written an open letter to Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan accusing him of deceiving the people and holding him responsible for failure when it comes to developing the infrastructure and improving the quality of life of the masses.
Mr Singh has asked Mr Chouhan to give up the idea of sitting on a fast (from Sunday) to protect the ruling BJP’s sagging popular base. He has also advised him to apprise himself with the ground reality and play his role as chief minister for the development of the state and welfare of the farmers, and common people.
In his letter, released to the press on Saturday evening, the Congress leader has said that after enacting the drama of “coal march’ mass contact tours, and investors’ meet, Mr Chouhan would now be embarking on the second phase of his drama by observing a fast using public money.
Mr Singh has said that as chief minister, he should use public money for people’s welfare and not for self-publicity. He said that Mr Chouhan should ask his own government to tell him when the crops were damaged by frost.
