Diplomat in spy case spills names of officials
Indian diplomat Madhuri Gupta, arrested for espionage, has reportedly revealed the names of certain Indian officials who were allegedly part of the anti-India spy ring.
According to sources, some Indian officials who were reportedly close to her are now under the scanner of the investigative agencies after fresh revelations made by Ms Gupta. The Indian officials named by Ms Gupta will soon be questioned, sources added.
Central intelligence agencies are also trying to find out why she stopped near Malpur in Sunderbani, located on the Jammu-Poonch highway, during her visit to Rajouri on March 30 this year. There are reports that on March 30 she went to Malpur in Sunderbani and reportedly was on the highway for at least two hours, sources said, adding that the area is close to the Chicken’s Neck, a narrow strip of Pakistani territory that extends into Jammu and Kashmir. “The reasons for her stay for such a long time at that particular place need to be examined. She has not told her interrogators anything about her visit to Sunderbani,” sources said.
