DMRC encashes DAMEPL bank guarantee
After taking over the operations of the Airport Metro line, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has encashed the bank guarantee of nearly `55 crores deposited by Reliance Infra-owned Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL).
DMRC, which is now running the national capital’s Airport Metro link, had encashed the bank guarantee deposited by DAMEPL at the time of taking over of the operations of the Airport line, sources said.
Earlier, the decision that the bank guarantee submitted by DAMEPL should be encashed had been taken in the last DMRC board meeting, officials said.
It was in the same meeting that the letter of the Reliance Infra stating that they would not be able to continue running the Airport Metro line beyond June 30 was discussed.
The Metro board had, however, concluded that DAMEPL’s step was in “violation” of the Concession Agreement.
